Makeup Monday : Blush

Over the years I’ve tried quite a few different blushes from low to high end, baked formulations, powders and creams. For a while I was happily rotating between a few MAC blushes (Springsheen, Dainty, Peaches, Coy). However, all of those were put away (and put to shame) once I discovered Nars.

This is my current collection and as you can see, some are very well loved. A couple shades (Deep Throat and Angelika) have been re-purchased multiple times over the years because I’ve used them so much.

PROS :
– fantastic pigmentation
– wide range of shades
– highly blendable
– lasts all day
– shimmer isn’t obnoxious

CONS :
– a little pricey
– packaging gets tacky/sticky over time (use Clorox wipes to clean residue off)

OVERALL :

For the more concentrated shades like Angelika and Torrid, I only need to use the tiniest bit. The color pay off is great for all of these shades, they go on smoothly and stay on. Mind you, I currently have normal to dry skin so if you’re on the oily side, your mileage may vary.

There’s something about NARS blushes that just works – at least for me. It’s no wonder a lot of make up lovers consider it to be their holy grail. While the price ($30) may put off some people, I feel it’s worth the splurge for a quality product.
