Living in perpetually sunny SoCal sunglasses are not just an accessory but, a must have item. I wanted to share a few of my current favorites (in no particular order).
Melt Sunglasses Metal Mirrored Aviators : These have flat metal frames and super dark lenses; so perfect for the days you want to be incognito or as an addition to your RBF, ha. The only drawback? They’re heavy! I only wear these when I know I won’t be wearing them hours on end because my nose bridge ends up red and sore. These come with a slim case and a polishing cloth.
Quay Australia High Key 65mm : Yes, every style/beauty blogger has these. Can you blame them? Shown here are the black/fade (so chic!) and green/gold colorways. I’m not usually a fan of gold but I love how olive-green frames look with the gold mirrored lenses. It’s different yet still neutral.
I also dig the (obnoxious? lol) oversized frames as they help my round face/big cheeks look smaller, ha. At $65 they’re a little on the pricey side but, still affordable compared to other brands (Ray-Ban etc). My favorite part? The clear cases. It’s genius!
Forever21 : If you search their website for oversized square framed sunglasses this basic style will pop up from time to time. When they are in stock I buy two or three at a time because they’re usually under $6! Can’t go wrong with these, as they go with everything. Plus, they’re plastic and very lightweight.
Also, if you’re anything like me, you always have a backup/cheap pair of sunglasses in the glove box of your car. These inexpensive F21 shades above are perfect for this. I can’t tell you how many times I have forgotten, lost, dropped, cracked/broken (thanks kids!) my sunglasses.
Nordstrom BP 60mm Oversized Aviators : For only $14 these are a budget friendly (albeit slightly smaller) option to the über popular Quay/Desi High Keys. They’re lightweight despite being metal which is a plus. It’s also available in ‘rainbow’ and ‘smoke’.
Always be prepared to block out those harmful UVAs and look fabulous doing so! 🕶
